Summer Cupcakes

Incase you didn’t notice, I didn’t blog much over this summer, and I’m not sure why.  I suppose now that I am in the habit of blogging regularly, looking back I can’t understand why I felt the things I did weren’t worth blogging – because they certainly were!

Here are some long lost photos of cupcakes I made on August 9, 2010 with my aunt.  We made the cake and the icing from scratch.  Although the vanilla cake was a bit dry and the icing tasted like a stick of butter, I certainly came to appreciate bakeries and box mixes!

It was a lot of work.  I can’t believe I didn’t reward myself with a blog post!

A real flour sifter!!! What a chore!I can't even remember how many things I mixed just to make a simple vanilla cake. The signature swirl isn't so hard - I don't know why everyone on DC Cupcakes had such a hard time learning it. That show was a joke.We made big and small cupcakes alike!I had lots of fun being creative with the tiny cupcakes - we made about 50 of them!I could barely stand and hold this box of cupcakes! So many!So many cupcakes, so little time!
